Our Founder's Vision
Northwest Career College was founded on a simple but powerful belief: education has the power to change lives.
Dr. John Kenny, a practicing physician for more than 40 years, opened Northwest Massage School in 1997 out of a deep passion for teaching and a desire to create an exceptional learning institution for individuals pursuing meaningful careers—particularly in the healthcare field. After more than two decades of teaching, he recognized the need for a school that combined academic excellence, practical training, and genuine care for students.
As the needs of the Las Vegas community grew, Dr. Kenny added a diversity of programs expanding beyond Massage including Medical and Dental Assisting, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Information Technology, Radiography and Construction Trades. Each program reflected his commitment to preparing students for careers that truly serve their communities.
At the heart of Dr. Kenny’s philosophy was a lifelong commitment to student success. He believed education should be career-focused, supportive, and grounded in real-world application. His goal was not only to educate, but to help graduates secure meaningful employment and build better futures for themselves and their families.
That commitment continues today. Northwest Career College remains dedicated to excellence in instruction, facilities, faculty, and student support—carrying forward the values upon which the school was founded.
We are proud to honor Dr. Kenny’s legacy by continuing his mission: to change lives through education every day.
