The NCC HVAC Technician program is built around one simple truth: you can't learn this trade from a textbook alone. Your instructors, many with decades of field experience, will train you hands-on on troubleshooting air handlers, testing refrigerant charge, reading electrical schematics, and diagnosing heat pump failures. Every lesson connects to the actual service calls you'll handle when you're on the job. Your training culminates in a supervised 2-month-long externship with an HVAC company in Las Vegas. You'll ride along on service calls, assist with installations, work through system diagnostics, and experience what it's really like to be part of a professional crew. For many students, this externship is a direct path to receiving their first job offer. The curriculum also ensures you're thoroughly prepared for your Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608 certification exam—the credential that legally allows you to handle refrigerants. Without it, you can't work. With it, you're hireable. Throughout the program, our Career Services team supports you individually. You'll get help building your resume, practicing interviews, and connecting with employers actively hiring in the Las Vegas valley. Graduates of this program can expect to work for HVAC service companies, property management firms, commercial contractors, and casino maintenance teams across Nevada.
