Q. How long does it take to complete a Paralegal Studies program at Northwest Career College?
In as little as 18 months.
Q. What are the benefits of doing a Paralegal Studies degree instead of a traditional law degree?
In order to obtain a traditional law degree, you have to complete four years of undergraduate study and apply for entrance into a law school, which can be very competitive and will take another three to four years to complete. With a Paralegal Studies Associates degree, you can earn an associate or bachelor's degree and begin working in your career as soon as you finish your degree.
Q. What kind of jobs can I get with a Paralegal Studies degree?
Paralegals can be found working in law firms, corporations, business organizations, banks, insurance companies, health organizations, Post-Secondary instructors, and government facilities.
Q. Can I transfer my credits to another school?
Yes! Northwest Career College has partnerships with several universities to help our students advance their Associate degree to a higher degree!
Q. Do paralegals need to be licensed in Nevada?
Nevada does not have any licensure requirements for Paralegals, but employers typically prefer to hire individuals with formal training if they lack prior work experience in the legal field. Paralegals are not usually considered entry-level employees.
Q. What is a paralegal salary in Nevada?
The average salary for Paralegals in Nevada is $59,200 per year. Graduates entering the field with formal education but no experience should expect a lower starting salary than average while they gain experience. Graduates then have significant opportunities to increase their earning potential, as many paralegals make more than average.
