I had an amazing Swedish massage with Eric G and I can’t recommend him enough! He was professional, attentive, and made sure I felt completely comfortable throughout the session. His touch was the perfect balance of relaxing and therapeutic — I walked away feeling refreshed, lighter, and completely at ease. If you’re looking for someone who truly knows how to help you unwind and melt away stress, Eric is your guy. Can’t wait for my next session!

Graduated from MAP last year. So far so good, I had a pretty good experience in school. I wish the radiology program actually wanted MAP students like they say. Most MAP students would work 9-5 and they don’t have any sort of night classes so it’s just a contradiction. They really don’t want MAP students😐

I am Currently enrolled in the legal program and i couldn't be more happy the teachers are very professional. One of the standout aspects of the program is its exceptional faculty. The professors are not only academically distinguished but also approachable and invested in their students’ success. Many of them bring a wealth of practical experience, which enhances the learning experience by bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. The diverse range of courses, including specialized electives has allowed me to tailor my education to my interests and career goals. Another strength of the program is its extensive network of alumni and professional connections. The program’s career services office also played a pivotal role in which were instrumental in building my resume. Thank you all NCC faculty for you are helping me build my life for success as i am excited to start next year already. HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HAPPY NEW.

Nevada career institute has been the best decision I have made. You get the best people to help you and the best teacher to introduce you to the medical field and start you off strong. Mrs. Jennifer has done just that. She is very detailed with her lessons and strives for you to gain the best understanding of the topics. Her way of teaching makes it fun to learn and retain so much information. Thank you Mrs. Jennifer for your time and support through my journey. Just as well as Jon who was my recruiter and continues to help me through my journey.

Dental Assistant FAQ

Q. Why would I want to be a Dental Assistant?

Dental assisting is among the fastest-growing occupations in the United States. As a Dental Assistant, you will not only enjoy increased opportunities in a growing field, you will also enhance the efficiency of a Dental Care team.

The duties and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant vary depending on state regulations but usually involve a variety of office, patient care, and laboratory duties. Some of the duties include assisting a dentist with treatments and procedures, taking X-rays, preparing dental materials, proper infection control and sterilization, maintaining dental equipment, and ordering dental supplies.

Become a Dental Assistant by enrolling in Northwest Career College's 9-month Dental Assistant program. You will learn to perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks that are essential to your success as a dental assistant! Some Dental Assistants are trained on the job by individual dentists, but formal education allows you to obtain become nationally certified and will prepare you to be successful anywhere you work in the industry.

Yes! Students will practice dental procedures with their classmates using industry-standard dental equipment throughout their training on campus before refining their skills while working on live patients under the supervision of a licensed dentist and other experienced Dental Assistants.

Not immediately, as additional training is required. Additionally, Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists are not the same careers. A minimum of an Associate Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene conferred by an accredited dental hygiene program is required to obtain a license. However, admission to these programs can be quite competitive, and prior experience working in the dental industry may help boost your chances of admission.

Dental Assistant graduates are eligible to work as clinical dental assistants in general dentistry offices or in specialty dentistry offices working with specialists like orthodontists, oral surgeons, or endodontists.

Accredited Dental Assistant training programs are typically nine months long. Students must complete several months of theory and practical coursework in a classroom setting before they transition into a clinical setting working with patients and doctors during their externship.

Education requirements for Dental Assistants vary from state to state. Some require extensive training, certification, and licensure. Other states do not have any formal requirements. Nevada does not have any minimum degree requirements for Dental Assistants, but employers typically prefer to hire individuals with formal training if they lack prior work experience in the dental field.

The cost of Dental Assistant training programs varies greatly from state to state. Tuition costs at an accredited Dental Assistant training program are typically $15,000 or more, but most of these programs offer federal financial aid, so grants can offset a large portion of the cost. Tuition costs can be lower at unaccredited programs because they tend to offer fewer hours of training and do not have the same job placement requirements as accredited programs. Unaccredited schools typically charge cash for their tuition.

Most Dental Assistant training programs are designed to help students with little to no experience in the dental industry. The most important thing you can do to prepare is make sure you are ready to commit the time needed for studying and practicing. You get out of school what you put into it!
